| Installation in Mixed Media, 1998 Permanent Installation at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, Omaha, Nebraska. The transformation of this old stairwell was inspired by the history of the building (once a dry goods emporium) and the surrounding warehouse district comprised of cold storage buildings, meat packing plants and railway yards. The toy train tracks and miniature saloon doorway call to mind Omaha's origin as a frontier city. The changing light patterns on the wall are created by the composite lens window as sunlight is refracted throughout the day. |
